Lip Augmentation Surgery

Lip augmentation not only gives fuller lips it also reduces fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Lips can be injected with collagen or fat, although these actions will not last for very long and this will have to be carried out regularly to maintain it long term. Longer-lasting options that use implantable materials such as AlloDerm and SoftForm which are placed into the patient's lips.

Collagen injections have a short life span of only 9-12 weeks. Fat injections can provide longer-lasting results, but for the longest results of lip augmentation you should go for an implant surgery.

It is worth remembering that Soft-form is a foreign body and may become infected or be rejected - while many techniques exist for lip augmentation, none are without risk. You should always get a skin test carried out to make sure you are not allergic to the product that will be being injected into your face; allergic reactions range from prolonged redness to swelling or itching. Normal swelling and bruising acquired during a lip augmentation surgery lasts from three days to a week.

After lip augmentation injections, you can return to normal activities almost immediately; patients who undergo a full surgical procedure should be back in action within a week.

Another augmentation choice is laser lip rejuvenation, which tightens the natural collagen and elastic tissue beneath the lips.

It is important to speak with your doctor about the treatments that are right for you, it is important with any cosmetic surgery that you to go to a surgeon who has extensive experience in the area.
